Default Draw Weights and Speeds

Never been around xbows , nor shot one, nor anything else to do with xbows. But, lately been thinking bout getting one, looking around, pricing, features, and all that stuff, researching. In reading some of the specs., I've noticed that some have heavier draw weights but slower fps speeds than others. How does that happen? How can you have more pressure sitting there waiting to push a bolt out there but that bolts takes longer to get there than a bolt coming from a lesser draw weight? Just wondering.
Thanks

Different power strokes(string travel). Same draw weight but shorter power stroke = slower bolt speed.

Engineering. Dang near every part on a crossbow from the limbs, string, cams or lack thereof, sound suppressors on strings and limbs, etc. has an affect on the speed.
