Never enough birds here 2nd season to be worth fooling with so I gotta put it all into first season

No real reason other than I just wanted to try something new. I liked the way it matured from the top down and not all at one time. I got it in the ground this weekend ahead of the rain they say is coming. I used a drag but am going to pull the cultipacker over it this afternoon.

Not sure about the proso in the Jackson area. I ordered mine out of Florida from Hancock seed company. I would imagine you could find Jap or Browntop at any of the local Co-ops in your area.

Keep us posted. Especially when dead birds start piling up in it, but before that too. Always enjoyed your dove updates in past seasons.

Herbicide no just till a few times. Fertilize yes just triple 10 cheapest the local feed store has. Just millet doesn't need much but if you really want it to seed gotta help it out some esp down here in this junk soil. Now sunflowers take a little more effort to have em right but they'll really pull em in
