As soon as the River goes down, I will be starting some new mineral sites behind the levee. Im curious. Do you all like the 50lb mineral blocks or the bagged mineral better? I was going to to start each mineral site with mineral and a little Deer CoCain Black Magic. Ideas?

I like the bags of minerals. I have always had better luck with the mix of bagged minerals.

Several good mixes that folks on here use. I've tried mixing my own this year and it has worked well so far. But Ive heard of folks having good luck with the blocks.

Have had good results with both, but for the last several years have used just bags and it seems to do better. Just my opinion.

I start all of my licks with a block and a bag of deer cocaine black magic. Deer find it within weeks and start utilizing it daily. Once developed I switch to a mixed bag from sanders called Excalibur.

I mix my own and use bags of minerals. Most blocks are mostly salt. Save your money on the black magic and add grape presweetened kool aid mix. They'll find it within hours.

I have tried a bunch of things and now I'm using a trace mineral block and a homemade mixture at each site that seems to be the best.

Bags, IMO. 1-2 rains and it's completely in the ground. Funny thing about salt licks...even if that particular piece of dirt goes underwater, the deer still go right back to it afterwards and dig the ground for more salt.

This^^^^^^ It works like a champ, don't even bother with blocks.

+1 with OleMossy...can't argue with results...re-established a mineral lick this year where I had a Trophy Rock (Not...) last year with IMMEDIATE activity...follow his recipe it works...I'm a believer
