Default New crest forecasts

The Big River is about to get mighty dangerous again.

As of today, the forecast for a crest at Greenville is 60' on Jan 14 and at Vicksburg 54' on Jan 16.

I just came across the Big Black on 27 it will be out of it's banks in a couple days.
Eagle Lake rd. HWY 465 will start to go under at the first location around 36.5'
HWY 61 North will have water on it at Redwood at 55'.

It is fixing to get real again.

61 doesn't have to go under water. Issaquena Co. Supervisor Lewis Hatcher told them in 2011 to plug all of the culverts under the railroad and they didn't. The water came under the railroad, not over it, according to him. He may be wrong, but it's worth a shot. Of course, MDOT and the USACE should have worked together to build that 61/3 interchange. No excuse for that to happen.

LH,
You may want to go ahead and change this forum header to "The Great Floods of 2011 and 2016"!

Sad thing is we don't have to go through this, there are locks that can be opened but they won't do it.

I don't have that much juice, just a mod it takes a admin to change a forum header.

Not the MS River, but the Tombigbee might get high also. At least the Columbus Lake, which backs up to Aberdeen.
