Default Wow! What An Upcoming Archery Opener!

Anybody walk outside this morning? Man, if that doesn't make you want to get in a tree then nothing does. With morning temps in the 40's and low 50's (and highs in the low 70's) all the way through the weekend...it doesn't get much better than this!

I read some comments on the deer forum about wanting to move the archery season back two weeks? This weekend is plenty justification for the October 1 date!

Anybody else ready to start the deer season?

It’s going to be nice for sure. On opening morning me and my dad, who is 71, are going after the squirrels, something that I haven’t done in a few years. But after that it’s on!

I will be watching the sun rise hanging on the side of a tree, with a perfect wind, Thursday morning. Good Luck to all!

Oh yeah! Got me in the mood for sure. The only problem I face is the spot I love to hunt early bow season has grown up to the point where I almost cannot imagine getting a shot. Its govt land planted in "crp" looking stuff, so I can't alter it in any way, and I swear the last couple years it's doubled the growth of the first 10 years! Surely the high waters were exactly what these plants needed to just explode. This may be the last year I can hunt it for a while.

But with weather like this and it being the Opener...I'll be there!

Perfect weather indeed. I always get stands ready for a South wind for the start of bow season. I had to rethink a couple of stand choices with the North wind, but I’ll take it. Good luck to all
