Default What cheap game camera?

I’ve always been a Covert user. I run 20-25 cams and last couple years I stocked up on the Mossy Oak Gamekeeper made by Covert. Worked great and was getting them anywhere from $48-$65ish. I’ve had a few old MP8s start acting up and lost a couple to high water and stuff. What affordable less than $100 cams are you guys using? Coverts are all $100 or more now looks like on Amazon and eBay where I mainly shop. TIA

The $28 tascos from wal mart are hard to beat. I had 7 last year. Put 6 out this past weekend and had 1 out of the 7 that didn’t work. Didn’t hurt my feelings to trash it as much as it does those $100 ones.

eBay has covert mp16’s 4 for 85$ each. None of my real cheap ones ever last longer than a year.

Yep. If you upgrade the firmware on the cam and change the transfer off of instant it will stretch that pic count.

I want instant transfer, so I am using external batteries with solar pack along with AAs inside for backup. I haven't checked the pack since install yet, but I have over 2500 pics. Plan to slap the multimeter on the external pack this weekend and see where the voltage is sitting. I don't have much faith in the little 2w solar panels on the HME packages.

Agreed. For a non-cellular game cam, you cant beat those little cams. Excellent battery life and they take pretty good pics for a $30 wal-mart purchase. The only downside for me is they don't have a battery meter or pic count. Of course, as cheap as they are I just bought several cameras along with spare SD cards. Every 4 or 5 times I swap the cards, I swap batteries too.
