Default Yellow Buoy South of BSL CSX Bridge?

Does anyone here know what the yellow buoy a mile or two south of the CSX bridge in Bay St. Louis is marking? We've passed it every trip this year and have no clue.

I'm a little concerned that there may be a new obstruction there that should be avoided.

I wasn't aware of the buoy until this. 2 miles out south of the rr bridge would put you almost to Taylors.

I'm guessing two miles maybe less - its actually just east of GT - on the 150 bearing headed towards the East edge of LA Marsh.

According to Navionics, " Yellow special purpose beacon(shape: pile) "Mississippi Gulf Fishing Banks Breakwater Light A" having yellow flashing light with a period of 2.5 seconds Yellow topmark; shape: rhombus (diamond).

This is exactly 2.6 miles south of the RR.

There are several of those new, small, yellow buoys from Pass harbor to Bayou Caddy. I do not know what they are there for.

If they are are 2 feet tall and 1 foot diameter they may be Research Lab buoys. There were some off the beach in Biloxi a few years ago that had a contact number for the researcher doing the project.

We saw it in our kayaks a couple weekends ago on the way to Taylors reef and I believe it did say research lab or something like that on it.
