Default Red reel

Got an old bottom rig rod with an amb 6500c bait caster that died. Looking for recommendations on a replacement reel for this 7' med-hvy rig. Usually lean on old school bait casters like penns, ambassadors, etc, but its a new world out there now. Thanks for input.

If you go back with an ambassador stick with the C3 or C4 models. They are still made in Sweden. The cheaper ones are Chinese junk.

At ICast this year Penn came out with a low profile bait caster. It should be released soon. There will be on in my collection...

The Penn low profiles look nice..

If you want a low profile before then Abu has a few salt series reels, just keep them sprayed off. Lews & Shimano are supposed to be good also, but I had my Abus from before I moved here and haven't changed since.

the new Shimano tekota looks like it would be perfect. Thy completely redesign it this year. I saw it at Nelsons in Pascagoula and it was very nice!!

Bought a concept 13 z3 (the orange one) and love it. low profile, light, cast a long way, smooth retrieve, 30# drag. It is a bit pricey in my mind worth the $$
