I think we will be ok. The slow water temp transition will have almost all the trout near or in deep water if they weren't there already.BSL just got to 49 degrees, so it is looking ok as long as it still gets warm Wednesday. You just dong want 24-plus hours around 45 degrees or so.
Sadly, Texas' great trout fisheries are getting hammered. |

Saw some interesting fish today. All obviously had pretty raw bellies, but two fish literally had their guts hanging out of a hole they made on their bottom from hugging the bottom so hard. It didn't affect their enthusiasm any.
I didn't expect to see any dead fish because of our deepwater areas, but I did come across some dead catfish and some baitfish the other day. |

I was out yesterday for the first time since the freeze and didn't see that first floater. Caught some trout up to 23", reds up to 28", and 2 flounder. All fish looked in good shape and were released. Water temp ranged from low to mid 50's.
