Ran my Exmark over these guys once and got lucky when I went to go back over them and saw them swarming!

Doggone I hate those things. Just got popped by one a month ago and it literally swelled up like a half a tennis ball and on my thigh. Sounds ridiculous, but I had to limp on that leg for a two days because it felt like the worst charlie horse ever. Two weeks later it was still red and turned into a super itchy rash that lasted for about 4 days.

Stay away!

Actually the lighter is completely unnecessary. It's the gas fumes that kill them. Pouring a little gas down the hole, preferably after dark when they won't fly, will do them in.

Though lighting them up may give some satisfaction in it's own right after being stung a time or two.
