I hunted 1 deer last season for 7 days and came home without him. But I still have pics of him and plan on trying him again this year. But........ That’s not saying I won’t shoot a decent buck while I’m waiting for him to show.

Personally, I find it enjoyable to hunt just one deer. Yes, it can be frustrating, but after you've killed hundreds of deer, it is actually fun to limit yourself to chasing a special buck.
I've failed miserably at times, and other times I've been successful. Last year was good to me.... I managed to kill the deer I had been chasing for 3 seasons on my TN farms, AND kill the deer I had been chasing for 2 seasons on my MS lease. I won't hesitate to shoot a cull buck while hunting my target, so I dont really put all my eggs in one basket. And if I dont have a really nice buck to chase that season, I just take a year off from chasing a single buck. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk |
