When we first started planting vetch and were alternating plots and plantings, I noticed some had grown from the previous year's planting. However, it wasn't sufficiently thick that I would forgo replanting. We plant several acres, but not enough to keep the deer from mowing it before a majority of it can ever go to seed.
Yeah.....after I posted this I checked my second patch and it has more volunteer, but it seems much thinner than planting new. The first patch doesn’t hardly have any. I was counting on enough re-growth that I could skip this year. I’m thinking about top sewing and dragging a heavy harrow then fertilizer before a rain.
