We have an electric spreader that we sit in the back of a Utv. Closed down as tight as it will close the gate opens about 1/8”. This normally allows me to go over plots multiple times which I like to do to make sure I get an even distribution. Most anything you can close down that tight will work even a bigger Whirly bird. Or you could always do that bag type and walk the plots if they are not too big

I use one of these bag type spreaders to top sow my clover. Not this one specifically but one like it.

We have a spreader like that one and I used it last year but I didn't get good coverage. It seamed to throw too much even closed down all the way. |
