I had a one row Covington plant that was purchased in the early 80's. Found a second planter on Craigslist last fall for $100. With some new plates, sprockets, seed hoppers and other small parts, I put another $300 in this baby. The good thing about Covington planter, the design has not changed much in the last 75 years or so. Parts are sold at many of the tractor dealerships around the state.

Planted two RR corn plots yesterday with the Covington. I set the planter up on 30 inch rows and 8 inch seed spacing. After a few adjustments in the field, it worked great.

Looks great to me! I know you're proud and it'll be nice to watch the results of your efforts all summer.

I am currently looking for something just like that one. A two or four row would be great. I will probably have to broadcast mine this year but I hope to have one for next year.

My RR corn is up. I am pleased with the job that my two row Covington planter did.

Ebay. Also, Lincoln Ag has MF plates. http://www.lincolnagproducts.com/ I've ordered JD plates from them before.

Sprayed RR corn with glyphosate 10 days ago and got 1.5 inches of rain over the weekend.
