You can easily make your own hog bait that deer or other game animals wont' touch.
5 gallon bucket. Fill half the bucket with corn. Add one jug of cheap grape or strawberry soda (not diet) Add one can beer Add enough water to come within a couple of inches of the top of the bucket. Lightly place the lid on top (don't seal it hard) and let it sit in a warm spot for 7 to 10 days. Don't sniff it. You won't like the smell when it is done. To use it, get a post hole digger and dig some holes about a foot deep. Pour the mixture into the holes. Hogs will root up like crazy trying to get the last bit of that feed. Deer, coons, turkeys, etc. won't touch soured corn. It's the perfect hog bait. |
