Hog Baiting???

Can you bait Wild Hogs in CWD zones. I know you can't use corn or feeders, but can you use some of these commercial products that is geared toward Hogs. If so do they work or what works best

You can easily make your own hog bait that deer or other game animals wont' touch.

5 gallon bucket.
Fill half the bucket with corn.
Add one jug of cheap grape or strawberry soda (not diet)
Add one can beer
Add enough water to come within a couple of inches of the top of the bucket.
Lightly place the lid on top (don't seal it hard) and let it sit in a warm spot for 7 to 10 days.

Don't sniff it. You won't like the smell when it is done. To use it, get a post hole digger and dig some holes about a foot deep. Pour the mixture into the holes. Hogs will root up like crazy trying to get the last bit of that feed. Deer, coons, turkeys, etc. won't touch soured corn. It's the perfect hog bait.

Soak your corn in Diesel, hogs love it nothing else will eat it, and pour used motor oil on trees around your bait and they'll rub the bark off.

"Soak" is a bit overstating it. Just pouring "a little" over the corn is enough to keep other critters away.

You can also put it in mesh bags and bait your fish traps with it.

The soured corn works. However if you plan on eating the pigs that you catch just know that the sour flavor can effect the taste of the meat! I would not even try eating diesel corn fed pigs!

Tried this last year and you are right about deer not touching it but the coons ate it up!
