Default PlopFly

Found something worth trying. Need fly not lure. Before I got serious tried easy way out but too much weight for fly. Cut the tail off saved the shaft deal wahlah. Gotta wait till this all dries cuz tried it in the rain barrel; works good and not heavey. Since it’s small no loud plop but definitely cuts up! Glue body to hook and jazz up tomorrow. Might try a trailer in the lil back eye if don’t mess the action. Thought maybe the peanut gallery was wondering..... And as usual the pics will be sideways.

Report back after you try it. Since a whopper plopper is basically a hard plastic buzz bait you may need to try a two handed retrieve. Stick the rod under your armpit and pull hand over hand. If you add a trailer, make it something you can remove if it want to foul around your "plopper".

Catching lotta flack from the FTF that theyíre plugs not flies....they arenít any heavier than my big poppers. The key is these tiny tails from River2Sea plopper double trailers I stumbled upon. They were hanging down with first foam bodies so made some better. Still gotta dress em up. Gonna be sweet.

I guess you could make your own tails from cork stoppers and the plastic from a Plano box divider or even a Pringles can lid. Be cheaper than cutting em off the double ploppers or whatever they're called.

Need 3D printer... prolly work w/o lil brass tube and beads and shaft are easy. May never get to that but good idea. Prolly use the plastic Easter eggs for curvature like used for spoons. Now click plopper....It never stops....

Playing with your idea. Gotta make sure they’ll spin easily. UV resin can make them hard as plastic ... hopefully bullet proof and spin... If I could split the coffee stirrer and drill out some beads to go over hook point then could eliminate the shaft so the hook would be the shaft. Ie make the plop blades in place onto the tube already on the hook. Problem compromises the tube by splitting it. So use 2 short pieces like in the click corks that’ll go over barb and around the bend. Sorry thinking out loud.....

Tried a couple with styrofoam balls for spinners. They work half ass... thought since they float
would add to buoyancy but the plastic bead / coffee stirrer not frictionless enough maybe and got the prop pitch off. Not gonna finish them till tweek the blades....The first 2 plop and spray water!!!! Gotta decide to cut the grass or bale it....

Limited out in pics on this site....53. Back to postimage.org got over 900 there. Or delete and leave holes in posts...
